On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, United States, killing 19 children and two teachers. Earlier that day, he shot and wounded his grandmother. He also wounded about 15 children and a police officer before being killed. It was the deadliest school shooting since the 2012 massacre in Newtown, Conn.

“Our hearts are broken for the innocent victims of the tragedy that occurred at Robb Elementary School and we need time to gather, reflect and pray for the families that lost loved ones, as well as pray for healing for those that are hospitalized,” said First Presbyterian Church of Cuero’s Pastor, Rev. Stanley Larson. “We will come together as a community and we will pray for them, to lift the parents and siblings into the light and pray for healing,” said Larson. “When we feel powerless in times of great tragedy, we can find peace in the power of God. Join us as we gather as a community to pray for all the victims of violence that the Peace of Christ will be known and welcomed.”

All are welcome at this service. Chairs will be provided for attendees and it will be located at the Chapel Without Walls located on the campus of First Presbyterian Church of Cuero. The service will be led by First Presbyterian Church of Cuero’s pastor, Rev. Stan Larson. For more information, please follow First Presbyterian Church of Cuero on Facebook.
