Serving her community is just one of Jennifer Webb’s many hobbies. This week’s Neighbor Spotlight shines bright on Webb, Yorktown Chamber of Commerce President, Economic Development Board member, Lion’s Club member, and Weischwill Real Estate agent.

“My mom always showed me a service heart,” she stated during an interview, “so, I try to give back as much as I can.” Webb explained that she came to Yorktown from Victoria due to a job transfer about 10 years ago, and decided to stay because she fell in love with the town.

“I like to be able to give back–that’s my big thing,” she stated, “because I’ve really been embraced by the community and everyone has been so friendly and so great.”

“Small town, big heart,” she laughed. When asked, one of the things Webb was most proud to accomplish was starting the LEGO club at the Yorktown Public Library thanks to donations and plenty of volunteers. “It is fantastic what they do there, and the Friends of the Library, they are wonderful,” she stated.

Not one for extra spare time, Webb simply stated that giving back and volunteering is what she enjoys best. “When people ask me, ‘What do you do for fun?’, I say ‘Honestly, I volunteer,’”she said, “That is what brings me joy– to be able to give back.”
