A criminal investigation involving a Nordheim ISD teacher is ongoing as the result of possible inappropriate conduct within the classroom according to the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office.

“We are investigating. This case is in the early stages of the investigation. We are looking into the validity of claims and are working to get the answers we need,” said DeWitt County Sheriff Carl Bowen.

Nordheim ISD superintendent Kevin Wilson said he did not know what the exact charges are that the NISD teacher is being investigated for. “We are aware of the situation and we have been instructed by the DeWitt County Sheriff’s Department and the school’s attorney to not comment on an ongoing investigation,” said Wilson.

When questioned on if the teacher is currently employed by the district, Wilson stated, “The teacher is on leave,” but he would not disclose if the teacher was on paid leave. “I’ve been instructed not to discuss all of that by the school’s attorney.”
