Possible homicide at local motel
At approximately 4 a.m., Sept. 12, Cuero Police Department and Cuero EMS responded to a call regarding an unresponsive male at the Wildflower Inn on North Esplanade.
Once on scene a 57-year-old male was found with no pulse and not breathing. He was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2, Blanca McBride.
Due to suspicious circumstances law enforcement believed this is a possible homicide. The exact cause of death is pending; an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, Sept. 13.
The victim is from the San Antonio area and has been staying at the Wildflower Inn while doing remodeling work on the building.
A 37-year-old male suspect is in custody. He was also staying at the motel, but it is unclear if he was also helping with the remodel.
