Primary runoff election results

A primary runoff election was held on Tuesday, May 24 for five statewide positions: lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller of public accounts, commissioner of the general land office and railroad commissioner.

Mike Collier won the Democratic primary runoff for lieutenant governor with 54.79% of the vote (263,503 votes total). Michelle Beckley earned 45.21% of the vote (217,398 votes total).

Rochelle Mercedes Garza won the Democratic primary runoff for attorney general with 62.72% of the vote (303,386 votes total). Joe Jaworski earned 37.28% of the vote (180,339 votes total).

Janet T. Dudding won the Democratic primary runoff for comptroller of public accounts with 61.4% of the vote (290,088 votes total). Angel Luis Vega earned 38.6% of the vote (182,404 votes total).

Jay Kleberg won the Democratic primary runoff for commissioner of the general land office with 52.91% of the vote (252,420 votes total). Sandragrace Martinez earned 47.09% of the vote (224,689 votes total).

Ken Paxton won the Republican primary runoff for attorney general with 67.96% of the vote (630,064 votes total). George P. Bush earned 32.04% of the vote (297,025 votes total).

Dawn Buckingham won the Republican primary runoff for commissioner of the general land office with 68.79% of the vote (592,683 votes total). Tim Westley earned 31.21% of the vote (268,914 votes total)

Wayne Christian won the Republican primary runoff for railroad commissioner with 65.04% of the vote (571,705 votes total). Sarah Stogner earned 34.96% of the vote (307,258 votes total).
