Help after Hurricane Harvey continues, as organizations and people are still joining forces to help those in need. Golden Crescent Habitat for Humanity and Ashley HomeStore in Victoria partnered to assist Mary Aries of Cuero, whose home suffered flood and wind damage following the hurricane.

Aries was overcome with thankfulness for the teams from Habitat for Humanity and Ashley HomeStore who came to her aid.

“I’m grateful, excited, happy and thankful,” Aries said. “It means a lot to me that they’re out here, especially on their own will to just come and help.”

When the flood reached her home on Hill Street, she was not sure how to react to such a devastating situation.

“I was lost,” she said. “I didn’t know what to do or even where to start. I wanted to give up.”
