The annual Yorktown Chamber of Commerce banquet took place on Tuesday, March 14, starting at 6 p.m. The event took place at the Yorktown Community Hall, and the theme of the night was ‘Putting on the Ritz’. Devyn Whittington provided the entertainment and Werner’s catered the meal.

The evening started off with the flag presentation and Pledge of Allegiance, then Tammy Bitterly with the Chamber gave a welcome speech.

After eating, Tammy Bitterly and Kristin Gibson recognized the milestone anniversaries of local businesses. Celebrating their first year wereFraülein’s Boutique & Home Decor and K’s Kitchen. Coastal Bend Power Services, Encina Services, Schoppe Insurance, and Skookum Electric, LLC marked their five-year anniversary. Arguellez Automotive, Cuero Veterinary Clinic, DeWitt Dental Professionals, Southern Inn & Suites, and Yorktown Inn & Suites celebrated 10 years, and Edward Jones, Shear Designs, and Warriors Weekend marked their 15-year anniversary. Marking 30 years were Citizens Bank and Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Gohmert Air Conditioning celebrated 35 years. Pierce Insurance Agency celebrated 40 years, Weischwill Real Estate 45 years, Yorktown Housing Authority 50 years, and Friends of the Yorktown Public Library and M. H. Leske Oil Company celebrated 55 years. Marking its 60-year anniversary was Cuero Pecan House, and Standard Printing Company, United Way of the Crossroads, and Yorktown Community Hall celebrated 75 years. Weber Motor Company marked 85 years, Nordheim Shooting Club 95 years, Yorktown Volunteer Fire Department 120 years, and St. Paul Lutheran Church 150 years.
