Values fall about four percent

DeWitt County Commissioners Court took its first look at total appraised values Monday at their monthly meeting. Although values dropped, it was not as dramatic as the previous year.
DeWitt County Appraisal District sent its annual report which will be used by various taxing entities to set tax rates for the coming fiscal year.
The court recognized DeWitt County Historical Commission for receiving the 2016 Texas Historical Commission Distinguished Service Award for its preservation program.
