Yorktown Assistance Ministries food distribution

During this time of pandemic brought on by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent and Yorktown Assistance Ministries, Inc. (YAM) are continuing to do their part to provide for those in the community.

YAM will have food distribution on Wednesday, April 1 at 9 a.m. Due to the current conditions, food will be distributed at the curbside by the front door of their building at 123 N. Church Street.

When you arrive to pick up food, YAM asks you to stay in your car and have your trunk open to receive food at the designated stop point. You will need to state your name when asked, and if you have previously signed up, your box of food will be placed in the trunk of your vehicle by a volunteer. If you have not signed up, you will need to give information to a volunteer.

Cars will be lined up north of the building on Church Street.

As stated, you must stay in your vehicle while a volunteer places the food in your trunk. If the trunk does not work, the volunteer will set the product by the client’s vehicle. The recipient may place the food in their vehicle once the volunteer has walked away.
