Boys and Girls Club receives donation

Hochheim Insurance Branch 2 recently made a $300 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of DeWitt County. Shiner Gaslight Theatre Presents “Dear Jack, Dear Louise”

Rehearsals are in full swing for “Dear Jack, Dear Louise”, the 2023 spring production at the Shiner Gaslight Dinner Theatre. Josh Kaspar directs this joyous, heart-warming play about two strangers, Jack, a soldier, and Louise, a beautiful young actress, who meet by letter during World War II and a love story begins. Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig was inspired to write this play by the WWII courtship of his parents. Gabe Adamek and Jodi Adamek, both veteran actors on the Gaslight stage and recipients of many Gaslight awards, will bring the story to life as Jack and Louise.

GOD first, Heavenly Father, at times we find that forgiveness comes very easily, even for grievous and painful hurts. But many times, we seem powerless to forgive, no matter how hard we try. Help celebrate Yorktown

Help plan Yorktown’s 175th Anniversary by attending an open meeting on Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. in the Fire Station Auditorium. Suggestions, ideas, and comments are wanted to help stage a celebration recognizing this time in Yorktown’s history. The main focus at this point is June 17 where activities are being planned in the park and in the museum. The June 17 fest has already scheduled a cookoff, photo contest, car show, cornhole tournament, music by Cactus Country, putt putt contest for kids with plans to add more activities.
