CHS One Act Play advances to Regionals

Cuero High School’s One Act Play troupe competed over Spring Break at their District competition, then advanced to Bi-District this past week. They won at both levels and will now be competing at Area on Tuesday, March 28, at New Braunfels Canyon High School.

Three candidates vie for city council At-Large seat

William (Bill) Matthys is seeking re-election to his position on the Cuero City Council as Council-Member-at-Large, meaning he is voted upon and represents all the citizens of Cuero rather than only the residents of a particular district. Matthys also serves as Mayor Pro Tem, the Council Member who presides as Mayor at all meetings and other city functions at which Mayor Sara Meyer is unable to attend.

‘The Wizard of Oz’ auditions

The Boys and Girls Club of Cuero along with EXPRESS are excited to begin the production of The Wizard of Oz. Auditions will be held Wednesday, April 26, and Thursday, April 27, at the Boys and Girls Club of Cuero.

Emergency Food and Shelter Program assistance

The local board for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) is preparing to submit a proposal for Federal funds made available through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency to the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program (EFSP) National Board. EFSP allocation for DeWitt County Phase 40 is $7,144.

Nordheim Easter Egg Hunt

The Friends of Nordheim will sponsor the 36th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m., in the Nordheim Jubilee Park. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. All nursery children, and children ages Preschool to 4th Grade will register for door prizes, and they will hunt for plastic eggs only. The plastic eggs will contain candy, prizes, or coupons donated by individuals and the local merchants. Children in Grades 5 to 13 years of age need to register to be eligible for door prizes. If it is raining, the hunt will be held in the Nordheim Shooting Club Dance Hall.
