300 exhibitors in this year’s show Combining this year’s commercial heifer sale of $476,100 and Friday night’s auction, a total of $1,179,722.42 was raised at the 74th annual show before add-ons. The total will continue to rise with add-ons continuing to come in over the next two weeks.

Ray Kelley receives Honorary Stock Show Supporter award

This past Friday night, at the 74th Cuero Livestock Show, the recipient of the 2023 Honorary Stock Show Supporter award was Ray Kelley. Kelley was born into a farming and ranching family with 10 siblings; understanding hard work, competition, and the value of an education.

Growing and Nourishing Healthy Communities Garden Course

A free six-week Growing and Nourishing Healthy Communities Garden Course presented by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service DeWitt County is being offered with classes starting March 14 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Activity Center 1214 Zorn Road in Yorktown.

Texas again leads state in new corporate projects

Texas once again has topped the list for new and expanded corporate facilities added in a year, according to Site Selection Magazine. With 1,028 new projects in 2022, the state had more than the next two states combined – Illinois and Ohio.
