The DeWitt County Commissioners Court held a regular meeting on November 13 at 9 a.m. in the County Courtroom in the De-Witt County Courthouse in Cuero. Precinct 1 County Commissioner Curtis G. Afflerbach chaired the meeting in the absence of Judge Daryl Fowler.

Smith Retires from TDECU Board

Smith was one of TDECU’s longest-serving Board members with a tenure of more than 27 years of service. His Board leadership helped guide Houston’s largest credit union through a decade of unparalleled growth.

A Veterans Day Ceremony will be hosted by the DeWitt County Vietnam Veterans of America, Saturday, November 11th, at 11:00 a.m. The Ceremony will take place at the VVA/ DeWitt County Veterans Center site in Yorktown, 901 Hwy 72.

November will be a busy month for the City of Cuero as our community recognizes our veterans on Veterans’ Day and Thanksgiving giving us the opportunity to say THANKS! November finds the City of Cuero busy with cemetery maintenance, golf course maintenance, and landscape maintenance in preparation for the cooler/cold months. And with the holidays just around the corner, the crews, Santa’s elves, are preparing to help with Christmas in the Park and Christmas in Downtown checking lights, extension cords, and scenes to make sure all works for these important events.

Tanner Fuchs, a Cuero High School senior, was selected in cooperation with Cuero High School, in March 2023 as the Westhoff American Legion Boy's State candidate. His parents are Troy and Christie Fuchs. Tanner gave a presentation about his experience at Texas Boy's State which occurred June 1116, 2023.
