The End of Summer Bash was recently held at the Cuero Municipal Library to mark the successful conclusion of their summer reading program. The library is grateful to everyone who contributed to this program, including performers and instructors who added value to the program. The event featured various performances including, the Karate Dance Party, A Real Mad Hatter, Austin Reptile Show, A Pair of Pirates, BKBones, Daniel G. Benes Science Show, Cool School with Ms. Maria, and Big Time Bubbles. Instructors such as their very own Toryn Littles, who runs the weekly Toddler Storytime, and Cesia from Mid-Coast Family Services’ Craft Time, also participated in the program. The library is also extending its gratitude to local merchants who, through their generosity, allowed for the distribution of coupons as incentives for children to continue reading during the summer holidays. The merchants included The Donut Palace, U&I Donuts, McAlister Sweet Shop, Dairy Queen, KN Drive-In, McDonalds, Sonic, Whataburger, Bush’s Chicken, Green Cow Creamery, AlphaLyfe Nutrition, and Chick-Fil-A. In addition, donations from Wonder World Park, Victoria Texas Zoo, Schlitterbahn, Yoakum’s Grand Theater, Axe Society, Subway, and H-E-B were used for the library’s final event. The library would like to express its appreciation to all the children who attended these events and participated in the Summer Reading Program Challenge. The winners of the Summer Reading Challenge were Cole Loest, Greyson Post, and Emma Zengerle in the kids category, Kaitlyn Garrison, Rowdy Ward, and Caden Garrison in the teens category, and Lauren Andrews, Alyssa Phelps, and Britin Trusty in the adults category. “The Cuero Municipal Library is grateful for the support of the community, and this year’s summer reading program would not have been possible without it. Thank you to everyone,” said Katelyn Meitzen.
