Emmet Floyd Brieger

Emmet Floyd Brieger, born in Yorktown, TX in 1926, died peacefully at home in Fischer, TX June 24, 2024, where he had recently celebrated his 98th birthday.

Born to Hermann John and Emma Natho Brieger, Emmet was the youngest of 11 children and was the last living sibling of that family.

Emmet served in the Navy as a Pacific 'island hopper' in WWII. Thanks to the GI bill, he was able to study mechanical engineering at UT Austin and had a long career at Schlumberger and then with other consulting activities in the oil and gas service industry. He was married twice to Merle Fischer and then to Mattie Bearfield. He is survived by an extended family resulting from those unions, of daughters and sons, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, spread across this country and Europe. We are all grateful that he has been a part of our lives.
