Carol Guzman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Kay Franke Guzman, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Yorktown Community. Carol passed away peacefully April 21, 2025 at the age of 82. Born on July 12, 1942 in Goliad County, Carol was a pillar of kindness, compassion, and generosity in her community. She dedicated her life to serving others, always putting the needs of her family, friends, and neighbors before her own. Whether it was helping special needs kids at the school in Yorktown, taking care of patients as a nurse at Yorktown Medical Clinic, or sitting with elderly patients in their home, she was a constant source of support and warmth. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place of comfort, and her wisdom and love were a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Carol had a profound impact on the lives of many. Her nurturing spirit and tireless commitment to making the world a better place was unmatched. Through her selflessness and unwavering love for others, she showed us all the true meaning of community.

In addition to her love for others, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was the heart of her family, and her legacy of love, faith, and care will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Carol is survived by her children Larissa (Brent) Niemeier, Lynnda (Billy) Kirchoff, Dr. Larry (Briana) Franke, Randy (Shannon) Franke, Michael (Susan) Franke, Robert (Peggy) Franke, grandchildren; Justin Pena, Jaclyn Pena, Julianna Pena, Nicholas Niemeier, Blake Niemeier, Lauren (Dylan) Martin, Brooke (Cody) Lubyinsky, Dustin (Kelsey) Kirchoff, Leighton, Abigail Franke, Madeleine Franke, Gabrielle Franke, Derek (Jennifer) Franke, Shelby (Will) Phillips, Courtney (Shane) Kulik, Candace (Jeffrey) Reynolds, Randy L. (Stephanie) Franke, Robert (Brittany) Franke Jr., Amanda (Mathew) Stary, Ashleigh (Travis) Peyton and Meghan (Adam Cortez) Davis. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Lucas, Maria, Cooper, Cameron, Tate, Teagan, Cohen, Cole, Callie, Sam, Case, Carson, Clay, Colt, Cinley, Cullen, Carter, Colson, Brody, Korey, Kierstyn, Kieleigh, Brody, Paxton, Caleb, Kyndel, Gracyn, Jaxon, Bryce, Madisyn, Patrick, Piper, Paige, Zachary, nephew and nieces; Harvin Suggs, Susan Whitefield, and Dana Lambert.

She is preceded in death by her parents, great grandson Caden Reynolds and sister Junell Suggs.

Pallbearers will be Robert Franke Jr., Randy L. Franke, Derek Franke, Dustin Kirchoff, Justin Pena and Jeff Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday April 24, 2025 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10 am Friday April 25, 2025 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Weesatche. Interment to follow at St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Karnei will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Weesatche in her memory.
