JEANNE ARLENE CANTRELL BYERLY

Jeanne Arlene Cantrell Byerly, 79, of Nordheim went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She was born March 31, 1946 in Denver, CO. Jeanne married the love of her life Neal Byerly on February 29, 1968 in Houston, TX.

She lived a life of generosity, freely giving her time and many talents. She volunteered for many years as a Sunday school teacher, worked in the church office, substituted in local schools, and was employed at Elder Oil Tools before opening a successful prepress print shop with her daughter.

She had a special love for children and found joy in helping them in any way she could—whether supporting her students or caring for her grandchildren and their friends. Serving others was her greatest joy.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 57 years Neal Byerly of Nordheim, TX and daughter Kelly (Mark) Carroll of Victoria, TX as well as her grandsons, Mason Wayne Carroll of San Antonio, TX and Dawson Carter Carroll of Victoria, TX.

Jeanne is also survived by sisters Evangeline (Marty) Ott of Fort Lauderdale FL and Sandi (Dennis) Laliberte of New Port Richey, Florida and many nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Cantrell, Nick and Eva Carter, and two older brothers Don and Ron Cantrell.

Visitation 1 pm Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Massey Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 2 pm. Interment to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mason Carroll, Dawson Carroll, Michael Laliberte, Glenn Turner Jr., and Jody Turner.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church-Nordheim, Hospice of South Texas Dornburg Center of Compassion or donor’s choice.
