HELEN FAY BUENDEL B

Helen Fay Buendel Breed, 85, passed away on February 3, 2026, in New Braunfels Texas.

She was born in Dewitt County Texas on February 18, 1940, to Arthur and Frieda Buendel. She was preceded in death by husbands, Leroy L. Strakos and Aubrey L. Breed Jr., son, Kenneth Wayne Mainka; parents, Arthur Buendel and Frieda Wunderlich Buendel and stepfather, Bennie Kyrisch Sr.; sisters, Norma Lee Friesenhahn and Ervin (brother in-law); Junell Goehring; brothers, Sammy Kyrisch, Bennie Kyrisch Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Colleen Tennell and husband, Terry; her grandchildren Wesley Metting (Cindy) and Tyler Tennell; greatgrandchildren Harrison and Amanda Casey; Daniel Goehring (brother inlaw).

Helen loved animals and took care of many cats that found their way to her doorstep over the years. She took great pride in keeping her yard green and her flower beds neat.

Funeral Services were held Monday February 9, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown. Interment followed at the Westside Cemetery in Yorktown, Texas.
