DOMINIC RAPHAEL D EBONA

Dominic (Baby B, 2 pounds 5 ounces) miraculously entered this world together with his twin brother, Joshua (baby A, 1 lbs. 8 oz). They were born prematurely at 29 weeks and 1 day and defied all odds that one or both would not survive. Together they weighed less than a five-pound bag of sugar. Their big sister, Arianna, loved and protected them fiercely and claimed them as “her babies” from day one.
A lover of stories in every form, Dominic found joy in books and history— worlds he explored with curiosity and wonder. He would have great discussions about history, especially military history, with anyone who would listen. He was a powerful poet and a passionate writer. He wrote hundreds of poems and a short novel. He cherished the adventures of Doctor Who, Stargate SG-1, and MacGyver embracing their sense of hope, imagination, and the belief that even the smallest acts of kindness can change the universe. That message resonated deeply with the way he lived.
Dominic found happiness, peace, and comfort with his dogs. He connected with dogs on such a personal level, that he bonded more with dogs than most people. It was amazing to see his great love for his pack and his willingness to love purely and authentically. He also loved visiting Texas Missions such as Goliad, the Alamo, and other historical places. Finally, he enjoyed nature and visiting Aransas National Wildlife Refuge with his dad and siblings.
Above all, Dominic’s heart belonged to his family. He was a loving, and caring son who changed his parents’ perspectives of how to see the world through his eyes. His bravery through the injustices he endured continues to inspire us as a family to advocate for the world we wish to see.
Dominic nurtured inseparable bonds with his twin brother Joshua, his older sister Arianna, and his dogs. He loved them fiercely, celebrated their victories, and held them close through every challenge. To them, he was not just a brother, but a steady source of love, humor, information and support. He also formed a special bond with his stepmother Cassie and loved her dearly. He spent hours discussing all kinds of history and his writing with his dad, as they shared a love for both and each other.
Dominic leaves behind a legacy of gentleness, curiosity, a love for learning, quiet strength and advocacy. He overcame many challenges in his life. Those who knew him will carry his memory forward in the stories they share, the kindness they choose, and the love he inspired in them.
