Mary Alice Meeks

January 29, 1936 – March 16, 2026 Mary Alice Meeks, 90, of Victoria passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born January 29, 1936 in Kaufman County, Texas to the late Imogene Bockman and Jess Parker. She married Carl Meeks, Sr. on February 25, 1955 in McAllen, Texas. Mary and Carl shared a remarkable 69 years of marriage.

Once her children went to school, Mary became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She began her nursing career at Yorktown Memorial Hospital, followed by employment for Dr. Gustavo Marin in Yorktown. She ended her career working at Retama Manor Nursing Home and Linwood Place, both in Victoria, Texas.

Mary was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Yorktown, Texas. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran on June 2, 1968.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy Soto; brother-in-law, Benjamin Meeks; sister- in-law, Mary Lou Austin, and son, Larry Meeks.

Mary is survived by her son, Carl Meeks, Jr. of Victoria; daughter, Patty Strieber (Bobby) of Yorktown; daughter, Peggy Schroller (Jay) of Houston; grandchildren, Chris Meeks (Cara) of Burleson; Stacy Meeks-Clark of Mesquite; Tyler Strieber, of Yorktown; Maggie Naranjo (Richard) of Yorktown; Wesley Schroller of Houston; Curtis Schroller (Amber) of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Mason Meeks, Annie and Allie Naranjo, and Lily Schroller. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She lived a long and fulfilling life, devoted to her family, her marriage of 69 years to Carl, and the many memories they built together. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish her love and legacy.

Visitation will be at Massey Funeral Home, Yorktown, Texas on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 10:00 am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Michael Smith, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Yorktown, Texas. A reception will follow at First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
