William Bargmann

William Bargmann

Bampa was born August 7, 1943. His whole life, he lived and worked in the New Davy and Gruenau area. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1961, and I want to follow his footsteps and attend Texas A&M like he did. He was a proud member of the “Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band” and was happy to see two of his grandkids play percussion like he did. He was a fourth-generation farmer and rancher until the day he died, March 31, 2026, at 82 years old. He enjoyed raising Brangus cattle, growing corn, driving around talking to friends, and being with his family.

When my cousins, my sister, and I were younger, we would always stay at their house on the weekends. Whenwewould arrive, Bampa would be gone working cattle, but when he came home, Grayson and I would beg him to throw the football with us. If there was still daylight left, he would throw it with us either until Grayson or I got tired or until NiNi called us in for dinner. - Ellie, 13yrs old I loved my Bampa, he was the best grandpa anyone could have had. I remember when me and my sister would go down to their house for the weekend, when we would show up our cousins would be there and we would play hide and seek. Bampa would always be first. Me and Ellie would always hide in the same spot, in between the dresser and the bathroom wall. Bampa would pretend not to see us and keep walking. We were always known as the hide and seek champions. - Grayson, 12yrs old Bampa was the best. When we were finished eating lunch he would take us out to the hay bales at the highpoint place. Brinley and I would either play princess villains or house and Ellie and Grayson would play parkour. Every time Brinley and I were having trouble with a princess villain, we would scream, “Bampa! There is a princess villain trying to get us!” Bampa would say, “Tackle ‘em!” Of course, we didn’t know what “tackle” meant so we hopped on the bed of his truck and threw 'poisonous' berries at the villains and would just stand there and laugh. By the time we got back to the house, it was dinner time. -Emma, 11yrs oldBampa was the best grandpa, and I loved how he would tell stories to us while we went to check cattle. And he would always say he loved us very much. He always had faith wherever he went.
