Martin worked as a driller in the oil field, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment. He believed that every challenge was an opportunity, and he approached life with resilience and determination. His dedication extended beyond his career; he cherished every moment he spent with his family, always putting their needs above his own. A loving father to his children Martin Mungia Jr., Francisca Mungia, Nora Mosley (Edward Mosley), Sylvia Mungia, Margie Mungia, Albert “Bo” Mungia, Victor Mungia, Vanessa Young, Amy Naranjo, Martina Hernandez (Jose Hernandez), Francisco Naranjo Jr (Amanda Naranjo), and Francie Williams (David Williams II) he was grandpato37grandchildren and great grandpa to 19 great-grandchildren and Martin was their biggest supporter and guide and proud of each and every one. He taught them the importance of integrity, respect, and love, leaving a legacy that will live on in their hearts. Martin was also a devoted husband to his loving wife Emma Mungia, with whom he shared 25 wonderful years of laughter, love, and companionship.
In his spare time, Martin enjoyed dancing, fishing, traveling, and after retirement he enjoyed helping his wife Emma decorate cakes, and spending lots of time with his grandchildren, which brought him great joy and fulfillment.
Martin is survived by his loving wife Emma and siblings Jose Mungia, Lucia Davila (Mario Davila), Gloria Gomez, Gilbert Mungia Jr. (Amelia Mungia), Valerio Mungia, Ruben Mungia, and Debbie Alvarez ( Jerry Alvarez). Martin is preceded in death by his son Martin Mungia Jr, his daughter Sylvia Mungia, parents Gilbert Mungia Sr. and Teresa Mungia and siblings Roman Mungia, Rene Mungia, Alicia Barrera, and Armado Mungia.
His warmth, wisdom, and humor will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Rosary was held on October 25, 2024, at Finch Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass was held October 26, 2024. Burial will be at a later date.
Pallbearers for the service were Albert “Bo” Mungia, Francisco Naranjo Jr, Zachary Naranjo, Joseph Hernandez, Regan Villarreal, and Gabriel Lopez. Honorary pallbearers were Edgar Mosley, David Williams II, Xavier Naranjo, Matthew Williams, David Williams III, Kaden Williams, Gabriel Garza Jr, Ysidro Garza, and Richard Villarreal.
Rest in peace dear Martin. Your love and hard work will forever be remembered and cherished.
