San Angelo - Frank Allen Rogge, 84, died July 10, 2024. He was born in Runge, Texas, on March 11, 1940, to Ed and Elsa Wunderlich Rogge and grew up on the family farm on the banks of the San Antonio River. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and attended Buesing, Nordheim and Runge High School. After graduation he volunteered in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany at the time of the Berlin Wall crisis in 1961 where he was on the front line along with his two brothers who were stationed in the area as well. He returned home and was employed in the oilfields in Karnes County after which he moved to San Angelo to work for St. John’s Hospital, but his longtime employment was with MHMR from which he retired. He pursued studies to become a Mason in 1968 and achieved 32nd Degree. He had many interests and enjoyed restoring a 1967 Dodge D-100 sidestep pickup. He overcame many major health issues with persistence and optimism for a number of years before his departure.

He is survived by his wife Jane of San Angelo; sons Patrick (Bethany) of Temple and Ross (Laura) of San Angelo; sons by choice Gregory Wongkritwit of UAE and Raymond Wongkritwit of Grapevine; grandsons Merit, Shane, Seth and Abel Rogge; sister Alice Stacy of Houston; niece Debora Gabour; and great niece Christina Gabour of Colorado Springs.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Elroise and Elmo Rogge and nephew Eberhard Rogge.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday July 15, 2024 at Massey Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 9 am Tuesday July 16, 2024 at Westside Cemetery with Pastor Tim Muehlbrad officiating.
