Gary “Butch” Caraway

Gary “Butch” Caraway, 67, of Cuero passed away in his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was born May 11, 1957 in Cuero to Stayton and Julia Lee Caraway. He married Anna June Eakin on August 7, 1976. He enjoyed doing small engine repairs, welding, fishing and cooking for his family. He loved his Diamond K work family but loved his wife the most.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Anna; daughters, Tracie Granger (Micheal), Brandy Crawley (Mark) and Britny Caraway; sons, Moses Caraway and Noah Caraway; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and brother, Rodney Caraway (Christine).

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris Rickman; sisters, Linda Shows and Barbara Laqua and brothers, Jerry Caraway and Ricky Caraway.

Pallbearers include Mark Crawley, Micheal Granger, Rodney Caraway, Monty Bowen, Jim Kuecker, Moses Caraway, Dakota Crawley and Ty Crawley.

Honorary Pallbearers include his Diamond K Family, Brealyn Brown, Cavan Smith, Lester Denby, Marcus Gomez, Jermon “Jabar” Murphy, Robert “Trey” Moore, Gerald “Jerry” Clark, Dustin Buesing, Lucas Peterson, Carlton McBride “Mac” Jr. and Keiran Grant.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 10, 2024, 10:00 Am at Freund Funeral Home with Terry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
