Alice Mary Cole Carroll of Yorktown, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024, in Yorktown, Texas. She was born April 15, 1948, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey where her dad was stationed with the military. Her parents were the late Everett Bush Cole Sr. and Joy Marie Wadell Cole.

Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Yorktown and a devoted mother to her three daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed taking walks, tending to her plants and flowers, reading, and playing card games. She became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant in 1989 and started working at the Yorktown Nursing home where she worked for over 25 years caring for the residents. Late in life she found her true love, Bud Carroll, and was married on August 22, 1995, and moved to Weesatche, Texas for a new release on life. She and Bud tended to cattle and things on the ranch, but most of all, she helped Bud with his wild hog business. Alice took a liking to the ranch life. She lost Bud after 25 years of marriage and she returned to her house in Yorktown. She and her companion “Dixie” enjoyed each other’s company day in and day out.

Alice is survived by her daughters, Glenda M. Bodenhamer (Calvin L), Melissa J. Weise (Randy), and Marcie Smith (Robert); grandchildren, Travis Weise (Heather), Patrick Weise, Hilarie Weise, Christian Ann Clayton (Alvin), Alishia Jenette Stephens, and Trey “TJ” James Everett Stephans; great grandchildren, Breagan Weise, Emilee Weise, Jennifer Ann Clayton, Ava Rain Clayton, and one on the way; twin brother Everett Bush Cole Jr.; sister, Brenda Trapani (William); numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog “Dixie”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Yulius “Bud” Carroll; great granddaughter, Anna Marie Clayton; sister-n-law, Linda Gohlke Cole; and nephew, Carlton Migura.

A private family memorial service will be held later. The family would like to thank Crown Hospice for their loving care of their mother.
