Alton Ray “Sonny” Seifert passed away March 4, 2024, at the age of 86.

Sonny was born August 27, 1937, in Davy, Texas to Herman and Annie Strakos Seifert.

On August 31, 1958, he married Betty Ann Mueller at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown, TX. They started their married life in Mound Creek, before moving to the Seifert Home Place.

Sonny is survived by his children; Darren (Laurie) Seifert, and Wysenda (Billy) Fischer; grandchildren, Austin Seifert, Wycoda Fischer (Vince) Janysek, Caitlin Seifert (Garrett) Reeves, Wryston (Kaleigh) Fischer, and great-granddaughter, Wynnlyn Janysek. He is also survived by his brother, Frankie (Gloris) Seifert, and sister, Shirley (Flavis) Kozielski; numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Sonny is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Mueller Seifert, daughter, Mistie Wynette Seifert, his parents, and sister and brother-in-law, Clara Belle and Elmer Hengst.

At an early age Sonny started working for Clayton and Barney Finch on their ranch in Mound Creek. Sonny liked all animals but enjoyed taking care of his cows the most. He was even known to do “physical therapy” with a premature calf until it could walk.

Sonny loved music, and loved to dance, but most of all, Sonny loved to make people laugh. Sonny was always glad that you got to see him, and those were his famous words.

Funeral Services were held Friday, March 8, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown with Pastor Tim Muelhbrad officiating. Interment followed at Westside Cemetery.
