It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Amy Leigh Gohmert. Amy's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit and impact will forever remain in our hearts.

Amy was born to the most loving and devoted parents, Charles, and Susie Gohmert, on December 11, 1974. From the very beginning, Amy's life was a testament to resilience and determination. Despite being born with cerebral palsy and being a quadriplegic, Amy never allowed her disabilities to stand in her way.

Amy's indomitable spirit and unwavering strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. She faced every challenge with grace and courage, teaching us the true meaning of perseverance, through 32 surgeries and many medical procedures. Her ability to overcome obstacles and embrace life's joys was a testament to her extraordinary character.

Despite her physical limitations, Amy lived life to the fullest. She had an incredible love for her friends, our dear neighborhood, Hershey’s chocolate, and the activities that brought her joy. From singing in her high school choir, country dancing, fishing, riding horses to water skiing and being the biggest George Strait fan, Amy found freedom and happiness in these many pursuits. Her infectious laughter and bright smile lit up every room she entered.

Not only did Amy possess a zest for life, but she also dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of others. As a mentor to children with disabilities, she showed them that their voices mattered and that they could achieve greatness, through their communication devices. Amy's compassion and dedication were a guiding light for those she touched, leaving a lasting mark on their lives.

Amy's love deeply extended to her family, and she embraced her role as a proud big sister to Randall and Traci and their bond was unbreakable.

Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Laverne Yariger Jr., and Jeanice Mattie Yariger, Newton and Verna Lee Gohmert, and her Aunt Anne Kouba.

Amy joins her father, Charles Wayne Gohmert, in Heaven and leaves behind her beloved mother, Susie Gohmert, Randall Gohmert, Traci Boyer (Richard Boyer), her nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, extended family and her many wonderful friends.

As we bid farewell to our Amy, let us remember her as someone who defied the odds, a beacon of strength and inspiration. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and unwavering determination. May her memory remind us to embrace life's challenges with grace and to never allow our own limitations to hinder our dreams.
