Antonio Canas Ordonez

Antonio Canas Ordonez, 69, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was born October 30, 1954 in Cuero to Paul (Pablo) and Rosa M. Canas Ordonez. He married Linda Gale Danish in October of 1983 at Cuero Community Park. He worked as a ranch hand, construction worker and concrete laborer. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing dominoes. He loved his coffee, cigarettes and watching westerns.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Linda; daughters, Linda S. Herrera (Stevie), Samantha A. Bautista (Candido), Pauline Ordonez and Hermenia Ordonez; sons, Sam Joseph Ordonez, Frank Ordonez and Tony Joe Ordonez; twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Pete Ordonez and Rudolph “Rudy” Ordonez Sr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2024, 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 6:30 PM. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 26, 2024, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Richard Bediako officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside cemetery.

Pallbearers include Sam Ordonez, Candido Bautista, Isaiah Bautista, Stevie Herrera, Frank Ordonez, Tony Joe Ordonez and Devin Trevino.

Honorary Pallbearers include Aliza Herrera and Makayla Trevino.
