Charleen Brown, 68 of Yorktown, passed peacefully from this earth, Saturday, July 24, 2022. Family and friends will gather for visitation and a celebration of life, Saturday, July 30th starting at 10 a.m. at Grace Funeral Home Goliad. The family welcomes all those in attendance to a reception at the First Baptist Church Goliad.

Charleen was born Aug. 14, 1953, in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Charles and Betty Ann Hawkins Cox. After her family returned home to Texas, Charleen married her love, Ivan Floyd Brown, II, at the chapel at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, on Nov. 6, 1971. Over the years, Charleen and Ivan enjoyed camping together and enjoying spending time with the grandkids. Charleen was lovingly known as “Momo” to her grandkids and family. She was an excellent shopper and enjoyed every outing. Charleen’s family and friends will cherish her handy work in all the items she crocheted for them. In the last few years, Charleen loved the time she got to spend in her “she shed” and cultivating her plants. Charleen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Betty Cox; sister, Cheryl Scholz; father-in-law, Ivan F. Brown; and brother-in-law, Victor Cofield.

Charleen is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ivan Brown, II; her children, Angel Brown and Eric Brown (Elizabeth); sisters, Julia Gray and June Cofield; brother-in-law, Bernie Scholz; mother-in-law, Agnes (Jane) Brown; grandchildren, Cody Barnett (Sury), Cala McLaughlin (Shawn), Faith Brown, Hope Brown, Grace Brown and Hunter Brown; great-grandchildren, Julian, Josiah, Amaniah, Eliana and one baby on the way.
