Cleda Louise (Stehle) Vogel

Cleda “Louise” Vogel, age 88, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in San Antonio after a long struggle with heart and kidney disease.

She was born May 4, 1935 on the Jonischkies Ranch near Five Mile Creek in the Ratcliff Community to Marguriete and Adolph Stehle. She was married to Norbert Vogel for 65 years who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her two children, Douglas Vogel (Bridget) and Tami McCall (Robert); grandchildren, Cody Vogel, Liz Kelly (Michael), Robert McCall III, Michael Mc-Call; great-grandchild, Aiden Kelly; sisters, Jewel Uhl and Karen Rogers (Warren); brother, Mark Stehle (Zanna) along with many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Hazel Stehle, Cathy Meyer (Lavern); brother, Cleveland Stehle and brother-inlaw, Billy Sam Uhl.

Louise worked for Southwestern Bell and Motorola. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yorktown as well as a member of the Ladies Home Demonstration Club. In her final years, Louise lived on her family homestead.

She enjoyed her animals and liked to read and cook and loved family gatherings.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 6, 2023, 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 7, 2023, 10:00 am at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Collins officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
