Daylight: July 23, 1930 Broke the surly bonds of Earth: March 22, 2024 Born the third son in the family of two older brothers and a younger sister to Werner C. and Alfreda (Ruschhaupt) Gohmert in Yorktown, Texas.

Baptized at St. John Lutheran Church , Meyersville, TX by Pastor E. Meier and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown, TX by Pastor C.G. Hankamer. Attended Yorktown Grade School and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1948. Thus began a career of employment in the electrical energy distribution industry (central Power and Light Co- Victoria, TX, City Public Board of San Antonio, San Antonio, TX). Service of our country in the United States Air Force 1950 – 1954, employment in the Rocket Fuels Development Industry at Air Force Plant 66 MC Greagor, TX, Air Force Civilian Service, James Connally Air Force Base Waco, TX. In Airborne Weapons Control Training. Systems Maintenance in the interim of military service and employment in the Rocket Fuels Development employment, God provided to me a most wonderful lady- Betty Louise Kolacny, who became the “Wind Beneath My Wings” for 47 years until death parted our worldly union in January of 2002. A reunion in our Father’s House of many mansions is faithfully awaited.

Attended Baylor University and University of Northern Colorado, receiving the BA and MA in Industrial Education from UNC at Greely, CO.

After graduation from UNC began employment with the Philco-Ford Technical Service Representative Div. At what was at that time NASA Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, TX. which later became Johnson Space Center. AS change in contractors resulted in employment with Lockheed-Engineering and Management Services under contract to NASA developing, testing maintain remote sensing systems and provision of shuttle mission hardware requirements and support. Retirement after 22 years of service has been eminently apprized.

Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Louise in Jan 2002; father, Warner C. in March 1963; mother, Alfreda in May of 1997; brother, Harold K. in Dec 2001; brother, Julius W. in Mar 1955; sister, Judith E. Burda and husband Ladis J. Burda; sisters-in-law, Eva Spies Gohmert and Jean Adix Gohmert. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and some wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at Finch Funeral Chapel- Yorktown, TX. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church- Yorktown, TX . Pastor Tim Muehlbrad will officiate the service. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Yorktown immediately following the church service. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Social Services of the South, Inc., P.O. box 140767, Austin, TX 78714-0767 or St. Paul Lutheran Church, 234 N Gohmert St, Yorktown, TX 78164.
