Douglas Warwas

Douglas Wilfred Warwas, 58, of Yorktown passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. He was born Feb. 1, 1959 in Cuero, Texas to Bernice Buesing Geffert and the late Wilfred Warwas.  

Douglas was baptized Nov. 5, 1959 and confirmed June 2, 1974 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown. He graduated 1977 from Yorktown ISD. He was a machinist and rancher, he enjoyed gardening and watching old western movies. His priorities were, his daughter, the land and his faith. The Bible was his usual reading material, Psalms 23, Psalms 51 verses 10-12 and Psalms 139 verses 1-6.

Douglas is survived by his mother Bernice (Emil) Geffert, daughter Deanna (Omar) Torres, sister Deborah (Steven) Kneese and brother David (Donna) Warwas, extended family Shirley (Darryl) Mueller, Larry (Martha) Geffert, Roger (Debbie) Geffert and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Wilfred Warwas, grandparents Willie and Erna Buesing and Chris and Anna Bell Warwas.

A private graveside service will be held Oct. 27, at Nordheim Cemetery with Rev. Tim Muehlbrad officiating.
