Eleanora Sturm entered eternal life on Dec. 9 at her home in Yorktown, Texas, after a beautiful and fruitful life of 103 years.

She was born on February 21, 1918, in Wilson County, Falls City, Texas, to the late John Warzecha and Mary Biela. She married the love of her life Herman J. Sturm Sr. on Sept. 1, 1936, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City, Texas.

Eleanora was preceded in death by her husband, Herman J. Sturm Sr; parents, John and Mary Warzecha; sons, Herman Jr. (Pauline), Albert, Raymond, and Robert Sturm; grandsons, Frank Sturm, and Bradley Maynard; granddaughter, Charlotte Sturm.

Eleanora is survived by her children, Sister Mary Ellen Sturm, CSSF, of San Antonio, Wilbert Sturm of Victoria, Alvin (Rachel) Sturm of Pflugerville, Janet Sturm of Victoria, James Sturm of Yorktown, Linda King of Victoria, and Marvin (Gretchen) Sturm of Victoria. In addition, she is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Eleanora was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She served as Eucharistic Minister for 25 years and in the bereavement ministry.

She loved and enjoyed cooking, canning food, gardening, making quilts, sewing, reading, and praying.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 19, at Finch Funeral Chapel Yorktown from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited also on Sunday at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Monday, Dec. 20, 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Roger Hawes officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given for Masses.
