Emilie Harabis Meyer, 89, of Cuero passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born January 23, 1934 in Shiner to Louis and Matilda Bujnoch Harabis. She married Harry Alfred Meyer on November 24, 1953 at St. Cyril and Methodius Church in Shiner. She worked as a cashier at Boysen's and Stanley’s Supermarket for thirty-two years and then worked at Wal-Mart for twenty-six years. She was an amazing baker and cook and always remembered her co-workers birthdays with a special baked treat. She enjoyed being outside working on her flower beds; she was a wonderful seamstress as well as a cat and dog pet lover. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her daughter, Rose (Rick) Sumler of Cuero; son, Harvey (Laura) Meyer of Georgetown; grandchildren, Cameron Meyer, Dalton Hall, Tate Busing and Jamie Dearing and great-grandchildren, Kyla Dearing and Jacie Jean Dearing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-four years, Harry; daughter, Doris Meyer and grandson, Weston Busing.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 31, 2023, 1:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary at 1:30 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Deacon Leo Sharron officiating. Interment will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Rick Sumler, Guy Edwards, Tate Busing, Dalton Hall, Joel Jackson and Ben Crenshaw.

Honorary Pallbearers include Mary Galindo, Elizabeth Loos, Vicky Adkins, Eva Aschen and Debra Smith.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Gonzales, Andrea Hicks, Nurses of Hospice of South Texas and Deacon Leo Sharron for taking such good care of our mother. Thank you to Father Richard and Father Jacob for your spiritual guidance and Thank you to Mary Galindo for being there for Mom for all those years.
