Glenn Dwayne Hallmark, known to some but we know him as Papa, left this earth on December 8, 2023.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 12th at Gethsemane Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Caleb Willis.

Born on January 23, 1949, in Cuero, Texas, to Helen Hallmark, whom we called Nana, Papa was one of nine siblings, each a thread in the tapestry of a close-knit family. Five sisters, Sharon, Judy, Kathy, Debbie, Jean (preceded), and three brothers, Curtis, Delbert, and Claude.

His journey through life was marked by significant moments, one of which was his fouryear service in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. It was during this time that Psalm 23 became a source of solace, guiding him through the challenges and uncertainties the war brought. In the midst of duty, he found AJ Krelie, who beame more than a friend— AJ and Electra Krelie, became the embodiment of what family truly means to both Papa and Mema, transcending the boundaries of blood.

After his discharge from the Marine Corps, he dedicated over two decades of his life to working as a Silver Service Sheet Metal Technician.

His commitment and craftsmanship were evident in every project he undertook, leaving behind a legacy of skill and dedication in his chosen profession.

Glenn’s heart belonged to one person above all— his beloved Brenda. For 46 years, they shared a love that weathered life’s storms, standing strong until her passing in 2016.

The memory of their enduring love served as a testament to the strength of their bond.

Glenn leaves behind a legacy that extends beyond his years—a legacy embodied by his three children, Faye and Richard Teague, Christopher Husted, and Tammy and Wray Sutphin.

His impact also resonates in the lives of his nine grandchildren, Bobbie Wilson and Shane Wilson, Richie Teague and Tiffany Teague, Paige Husted, Christopher Husted, Taylor Rathbone, Aaron Grosskopf, Amanda Bowers, Becky Bowers, and Joel Morris.

Great-grandchildren, Alexys, Madison, Aiden, Ian, Jackson, Liam, Aurora, Mason, and Ava. In addition, many nephews, and nieces.

His love for family was as vast as the Texas sky, and returning to Texas for family reunions was a cherished tradition. His passion for Cowboy’s Football and the thunderous roar of NASCAR Racing was infectious, creating unforgettable moments shared with loved ones if you were lucky enough to sit on the couch and watch with him.

Above all, his greatest joy and fulfillment came from his family.

His love, guidance, and unwavering support created a foundation that will endure for generations to come. As we bid farewell to a loving Dad, Papa, and friend, let us remember him in his Vietnam Vet Hat, sitting in his recliner, Cowboy, and NASCAR Racing Sundays, with his Miller Ponies (HL), Wrangler jeans, and plaid button-ups with Keko. The strength of his character, and the love and acceptance that he gave to all who were fortunate enough to be called family.

May he rest in peace, reunited with Mema, in the eternal love of Jesus.
