Glynn Alan “Mac” McWhorter, 60, of Cuero passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017. He was born Jan. 16, 1957 in Sherman to the late Morris Glynn and Wanda June McWhorter.
Alan was a member of the 1973 and 1974 Cuero Gobbler State Championship football teams. After graduating from Cuero High School in 1975, he attended Texas A&I in Kingsville. Alan worked for Gulf Coast Wood Products of Cuero, Mortensens Woodwork Inc. of Georgia, Glenn Reider Inc. of Milwaukee and was currently an Estimator for KP Cabinets in Cuero.
He was a connoisseur of golf, loved to watch the Texas Longhorns and Cuero Gobbler football, and enjoyed Rock and Roll. Most recently, he could be found playing pool on Thursday nights with his pool buddies and singing karaoke with friends while dinking a cold beer.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Arndt and husband, Michael, of Cuero; nephew, Tyler Arndt; step-daughter, Melissa Nickerson Keseling; and his faithful kitty cats.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Terry Brown officiating.
Honorary pallbearers include the 1973 and 1974 Cuero Gobbler football teams, Bill Griffin, Perry Heibner, Bruce Brown, Brett Duckett, Patrick Pickett, Jeremy Haas, his Thursday night pool buddies and all karaoke friends.
