Guy B. Nobles “Chief” passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, with his wife by his side after a long battle with cancer.

He was born July 9, 1937, to Jessie Marvin Nobles, Sr. and Mary Sernia Burrow Nobles in Killeen, Texas.

In 1971 he entered the professional career in public service as a police officer, serving in Georgetown and Killeen, Texas. In 1976 he came to Yorktown, Texas as Chief of Police. He married the love of his life, Cathy Borgfeld, in 1977. Guy retired in 1999 after serving 23 years as Yorktown Chief of Police.

He was a member of the Yorktown Lions Club for several years and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Yorktown.

Guy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cathy Borgfeld Nobles; daughter, Karen (Paul) Gaida; grandchildren, Ashlie Gaida, and Weston Gaida; mother- in-law, Daisey Borgfeld; sisters-in-law, Judy (Jim) Noster and Jeannie Borgfeld; nieces, Shannon Saunders, Heather (Kevin) Styra; nephew, Michael (Louise) Noster; great-nephew, Connor Saunders.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 brothers; and 2 sisters; father-in-law, Dalton L. Borgfeld.

Pallbearers are Paul Gaida, Weston Gaida, Jim Noster, Connor Saunders, Santos Calderon Jr., and Paul Campos. Honorary pallbearers are Ashlie Gaida and Shannon Saunders.

Visitation with the family will be 10:00 am, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Yorktown. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Yorktown.
