Jerfred Carroll

Jerfred Samuel Carroll, completed his earthly journey Monday, Nov. 11, 2019. He was born March 9, 1979 in Yoakum to Arthur and Wanda (White) Carroll. He was the eldest of three children.

Jerfred enjoyed many hobbies that kept his days full of happiness. Such hobbies were gardening, which he earned a certification as a Master Gardener, grilling, watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, and music. It was his love of music that inspired Jerfred to become a DJ in his free time. He became a devout Christian at the House of Grace under the leadership of Pastor Sandra Gates. He was a committed and faithful individual that gave his prompt attention to the things of God. He was always eager and willing to give his time to serve his Godly duties whenever needed and without hesitation. He has touched so many lives in such a positive manner and did not waiver in his love for God’s people. Jerfred’s name means strength in bringing people together in peace and harmony.

He graduated Yoakum High School in May 1997. After graduation, he was employed by Kaspar Wire Works for over 15 years, Cuero Community Hospital for over 10 years, and then employed by Yoakum Community Hospital in July, 2012 where he worked as a Lead Facilities Technician for over 5 years. Additionally, he was honored as the YCH Partner of the Year in 2017.

Jerfred met the love of his life, Darlene Rose Clay and they were united in holy matrimony on Oct. 2, 1999 in Yoakum. To this union one child was born, Kyle Samuel Carroll. He was a devoted husband and father that dedicated most of his time to ensuring that his family knew at all times his unconditional love for them was unwavering.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 20 years, Darlene Rose Carroll; son, Kyle S. Carroll; father, Arthur R Carroll of Yoakum; two sisters, Katrina D Lewis (Fredrick) of Prairie View, Cassandra Clarissa Carroll of Yoakum; and a host of family and friends.

Preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Louise Carroll.

Funeral Service was 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Pastor Sandra Gates officiating. Burial followed at Yoakum Restland Cemetery.

Jerfred will be truly missed but most definitely never forgotten.
