Joe Sterling Dailey

Joe Sterling Dailey (Baby Joe) of Houston passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023. He was the youngest of thirteen children born to the late Otho and Mary Pearl Dailey of Cuero. Joe retired from Richway Transportation Services of Houston as a truck driver.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Sheronda Dailey of Victoria; a son, Roy Dailey of Houston; a brother, Robert Dailey of San Antonio; sisters, Erma Jean Mathis, Alma Wesley, Rose Nell Shanklin and Lorine Boone all of Cuero; three grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R.B. Dailey, Walter Dailey, Douglas Ray Dailey and Otho Dailey Jr.; and sisters, Effie B. Smith and Mary Louise Mathis.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, 1:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Garland Shanklin officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ronnie Dailey, Rodney Mathis, Brian Boone, Terry Nobles, Dewayne Mathis and Philip Word.

Honorary Pallbearers include his sisters and brother.
