Julia Bautista

Julia Bautista, 75, of Cuero passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was born January 25, 1949 in San Miguel, El Salvador to the late Martina Sorto Portillo. She married Paulino Bautista and worked as a housekeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Paulino Bautista; daughters, Lourdes Portillo of Austin, Jenny Hernandez of Cuero and Marisol Bautista of Cuero; sons, Ramon Portillo of San Miguel, El Salvador and Cesar Steve Portillo of Cuero; sisters, Maria Portillo of San Miguel, El Salvador, Esperanza Paniagua of San Miguel, El Salvador, Reyna Manzanares of Homestead, FL and Irma Portillo of Marietta, GA; brothers, Andres Sorto of California and Jose Portillo of Homestead, FL; grandchildren, Josue, Jennifer and Ramon Melendez of San Miguel, El Salvador, Danielle and Gabriel Guerrero of Austin, Giselle Hernandez of Cuero, Eli Portillo of Victoria, Javian Ares Portillo of Cuero, Quincy Harvey Jr. of Cuero and Jaliyah Harvey of Cuero.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, 9:00 AM at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dan Cancino officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Quincy Harvey Sr., Victor Hernandez, Brian Lee, Pierre Hill Sr., Malcolm Williams and Candido Bautista Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers include Quincy Harvey Jr., Steve Portillo, Gabriel Guerrero, Elias Portillo and Andres Sorto.
