Marian Faye Howe Voyles passed away on August 21, 2023 in Kerrville, Texas. She was 88 years old.

Marian was born November 10, 1934 in Holliday, Missouri to Ralph and Mildred Howe. She attended school in Holliday and graduated from Paris High School in Paris, Missouri. In 1953 she married Robert P. “Cowboy” Voyles, and after completing his military service, they settled in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1964 they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, and resided there until they retired to Cuero, Texas in 1997.

Marian moved back to South Texas after her husband passed away, and lived at Brookdale Northshore in Portland, Texas. Most recently she lived in Kerrville, Texas to be near her son, Rob. Wherever she lived, Marian had an active role in her local church.

She was taught to play piano by her mother, and often played piano and organ for church services and special events. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, and she made many of the clothes that she wore.

During the course of her life, Marian learned of the importance of the spiritual life, and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She understood that salvation is based on God’s grace, and is without human merit or deserving. She believed that God did all the work necessary for salvation, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, died to redeem all mankind on the cross. She understood that to have eternal life, all that is required is faith alone in Christ alone. He provided everything for salvation, as a free gift. All man has to do is accept this gift from God.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband of 48 years, Bob Voyles.

She is survived by her two sons, Rick Voyles (Suzanne) and Rob Voyles (Donna), her grandchildren, Katie Voyles and Paul Voyles, her brother, Bob Howe (Norma) and her sister, Fran Shanks, along with nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.
