Nellie B. Peoples Nichols entered into rest on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born on June 13, 1932 to the late Mack Peoples, Sr and Mary Jenkins Peoples of Thomaston, TX.

Gracefully known as Nana, she touched many lives through her dedication as God’s servant. She served on Usher Board, taught Sunday School, organized programs, and lead many choirs throughout DeWitt County.

She is survived by her sons, Rev William F Nichols, Jr of Belleville, IL, and Stevie Nichols (Kim) of Carrollton, daughters, Nelda Garner of Cuero, Cheryl Nichols (Floyd) of Cypress, Tracey Carroll (Shawn) of Victoria, Tx, Veronica Nichols of Missouri City, Keysha Nichols Friar (Victor) of Pflugerville, Tx and her bonus daughter, Drosto Montgomery of Austin, Tx. She was surrounded with love by her 27 grand children, 29 great grand children, 4 great great grand children, and a host of nieces and nephews. Nana was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev William F Nichols, Sr., her parents Mack & Mary Peoples; her siblings, Avalonia Green, Lillie Mae Barefield, Mattie Howard, Mack Peoples Jr, Effie Brown, Harrison Peoples, Rosie Center; 2 grandchildren Kennan Burden and Kylyssa Nichols.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, at First Baptist Church, 408 N Gonzales St, Cuero. Visitation will be 10a-12p; funeral to begin at noon. Flowers should be sent to First Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 22. Burial will be immediately after at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.
