He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Rose Marie Slovacek and Dorothy Peoples.

In 1968, Pete answered the call of his nation and enlisted in the United States Army. He served as a brave soldier in the jungles of Vietnam, displaying remarkable courage and selflessness. Pete’s unwavering support for his fellow veterans, through organizations such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, showcased his compassion and dedication to their well-being.

Pete’s love extended beyond his service, as he was a devoted husband to his wife, Grace, for 54 years. Their enduring love was a beautiful example of the power of love and commitment. He was a loving father to his son, Brian, and a cherished grandfather to his two granddaughters. His family was at the center of his heart, and he was a pillar of strength for all who knew him.

In addition to his military service and family life, Pete had a passion for hunting and fishing. Big bucks and largemouth bass never stood a change in his presence.
