Wilbert Edwin Kuecker

Wilbert Edwin Kuecker, 78, of Cuero passed away Monday, May 16, 2022. He was born July 15, 1943 in Cuero to Louis A. and Anna M. Buch Kuecker.  e proudly served in the United States National Guard. He married Lynda L. Perry on December 22, 1967 in Victoria and they were happily married for thirty-four years before her passing in 2002. He worked at Stripes as a manager. He also worked for H-E-B as a butcher and CPL as a lineman. Mr. Will, as everyone knew him, enjoyed watching the Cuero Gobblers play football and drinking coffee with his DQ group.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice (Dwayne) Salles; sons, Sundance (Gloria) Kuecker and Heath (Karen) Kuecker; sister, Nelda Haschke; brothers, Sterling Kuecker, Lionel Kuecker and Farrell Kuecker; grandchildren, Cassie (Brad) Moore, Thomas (Anna) Salles and Colten Salles (Fiancé Brianna); great-grandchildren, Starr Elliot, Jameson Moore, Jadyn Salles and Huxlyn Salles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Lynda; sister, Laverda Oehlke and brothers, Leebell Kuecker and Charles Kuecker.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, 9 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Parker officiating.  Interment will follow at Thomaston Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Brad Moore, Thomas Salles, Colten Salles, Cassie Moore, Glen Kuecker and Steve Kuecker.

Honorary Pallbearers include his great-grandchildren, Starr Elliot, Jameson Moore, Jadyn Salles and Huxlyn Salles.
