Kerrville, Dr. Marvin H. Gohlke, 101 years old, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2023, at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on November 13, 1921, in a farm house in Goliad County, Texas, to Marcellus F. Gohlke and Hed wig “Hettie” A. Karnei Gohlke, in the same house his mother was born, and delivered by the same doctor.

San Antonio, Estella Villa, 73, of San Antonio, formerly of Yorktown passed away Wed. Aug. 2, 2023. She was born in Cuero on Nov. 16, 1949 to the late Antonio and Tomasita Sepeda Villa. She was a faithful Catholic who was active in the church especially in the San Antonio diocese. She was recognized by the Archdiocese of San Antonio with Lumen Gentium award. This is bestowed upon Catholic laypeople who have demonstrated participation in the Catholic Church’s mission to bring Christ’s light to all.

Pamela Kay Ransom

Pamela Kay Ransom was born on October 1st, 1958 in Cuero, TX to Ella Mae Young. She was the youngest of three children. She was baptized at a young at Little Zion Baptist church in Cuero. She graduated from Cuero High School in 1977. Shortly afterward she moved to Fort Worth, TX and worked as a Health Information Documentation Analyst for Texas Health Resources for over 40 years. She was a devout member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas.

Cuero, Cheryl Ann Causey Sweet, 65, of Cuero passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023. She was born January 9, 1958 in Uvalde to Morgan Causey and Mildred Arnim Weldon. Cheryl attended and graduated from Cuero High School where she was a Varsity cheerleader in ‘73, ‘74 and ‘75. She was named Miss De Witt County in 1974. After graduation, she continued her education and became a registered nurse. She was a proud recipient of the DAISY Award. Cheryl was an amazing moth er who was completely devoted to her son and a fantastic cook. She is survived by her moth er and step-father, Mildred and Stayton Weldon of Cuero; son, Crockett Don Sweet of Wimberley; sisters, Charla Jones of Cu ero, Stacey White of Cypress, Cheri Stone of Cypress and Mar garet Jones of Friend swood, brother, Charlie Weldon of Houston and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Morgan Causey. A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023, 6:30 PM at Teaghlach Meadows Chapel, 2099 Spies Rd. Yorktown.
