Nancy Lynn Zielonka- Kahanek was born to Joyce DeDear Zielonka and Emil Zielonka 9/28/55. Just 3 weeks shy of her 68th birthday, she took her glass of ice tea and sat down on the porch of her cabin. She put her feet up, closed her eyes, and her heavy heart was healed when she woke up in heaven to the tiny arms of her little girl, Kyndil, wrapping around her neck. Her beloved little fur babies Fox and Rio hopping into her lap wanting their pieces of buttered toast she always fixed for them, along with her ever loyal rescued lab Willow, and mutt Ehou, by her side, once again to walk with her as she met our Lord, finally at peace, 9/7/23.

Gladys Ruth Migura Persyn passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024 in Del Rio. She was born in Yorktown, Texas on October 23, 1939 to Alois and Vera (Skloss) Migura. Gladys attended Holy Cross Catholic School and graduated from Yorktown High School. After high school, she and several friends moved to San Antonio where she worked for USAA. Gladys met Ronnie Persyn at a dance and they married on April 30, 1960 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. They originally lived in San Antonio and when Holt Machinery transferred Ronnie to Del Rio in early 1962, they made their home there with daughters Julie and Jane.

September 1, 1949 – March 3, 2024 Alton Wayne Hardt, 74 of Cuero, passed away March 3, 2024, in Victoria, Texas. He was born September 1, 1949, to the late Raymond and Rosie Logeman Hardt in Cuero, Texas. He was a retired System Operator with AEP. Alton is a Vietnam Veteran and honorably served in the U.S. Army. He married Debra Kay Nesloney on November 21, 1971, in Cuero, Texas. They had been married 51 years before her death in January 2023.

Alton Ray “Sonny” Seifert passed away March 4, 2024, at the age of 86. Sonny was born August 27, 1937, in Davy, Texas to Herman and Annie Strakos Seifert.

Carol Adele Griffin Schroller, 92, of Yorktown passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was born January 27, 1932, in Texas City, Texas, to the late LeeRoy Griffin, Sr.

Alice Mary Cole Carroll of Yorktown, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024, in Yorktown, Texas. She was born April 15, 1948, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey where her dad was stationed with the military. Her parents were the late Everett Bush Cole Sr. and Joy Marie Wadell Cole.
