Still over a month away from the start of school this fall, three Cuero High School seniors are already prepping for their final cheer season. Madison Gibson, Te’Era Johnson and Jaymee Rangnow were nominated by former CHS cheer coach, Deborah Pedraza, to take part in a cheer camp from June 20-27 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
It was an experience which is sure to impact them, as they lead Cuero cheer this year.
“I thought it was really beneficial, because we learned dances and cheers and chants, new things for us to bring back to our squad for this season,” Johnson said of the week-long camp.
Johnson was voted group leader for Team Hoku at the camp. For the 2019-2020 cheer season, Gibson, Johnson and Rangnow are all looking to build off of last year’s success while growing closer as a team.
