A state championship in football stands at the forefront of Cuero athletics for the 2018-2019 school year, but there were many more accolades for the school district. For the first time in several years, every program reached the postseason.

Along with the athletic success, many athletes also received high marks academically at the district and state level. Last Monday night, May 13, Cuero athletes were honored at their end-of-year athletics banquet, sponsored by the booster club.

Cuero ISD athletic director Travis Reeve has had a first row seat to many of their accomplishments this year, and he made sure to give them the credit they’re due.

“They’ve put in a lot of hard work,” Reeve said. “Every single one of our teams qualified for the post-season. That hasn’t been done in several years.”

The Gobbler and Lady Gobblers also featured four district championships in football, girls basketball, girls track & field and baseball.
