The Cuero Record

Currently ranked number one in district, the Cuero Gobblers showed their dominancy once again. This past Friday’s game against the Navasota Rattlers, Cuero claimed the victory, 55-14. Overall the Gobblers are 7-1 for the season and 3-0 for district.

Playing faster and more physical is an important factor when it comes to winning a football game and these Gobblers prove that strategy is effective every Friday. Only allowing Navasota to gain less than thirty yards in the first quarter while Cuero scored several times, showing the determination that these players have to win.

“Offensively, we got put behind the six a couple times, we overcame some bad situations. I thought it was a pretty clean performance” said head coach Jack Alvarez.

“These district games are not won by individuals they are won by a team, it is something special to see these boys give it their all when on the field. Between offense and defense, there certainly are players that stand out amongst the team giving off more energy and momentum to keep fighting their fight.
