Disappointed: Dunn already looking towards next season

While the world waits for a vaccine for COVID-19, athletes are also indefinitely waiting for some sort of normalcy to return. Regan Dunn, who graduated from Cuero High School in 2018, saw her sophomore season at Sam Houston State University end prematurely. One of the top pitchers on the Bearkat softball team, she understands the necessity for athletic seasons to be suspended or canceled but at the same time is ready to return.
“I was disappointed when I first heard, but I had also been expecting it in a way,” Dunn stated. “We knew other conferences had already made the decision, and I was hoping it really wouldn’t come to it but was aware it may happen. The most important thing to consider was safety of others.”
Through 26 games in the 2020 season, the pitcher/outfielder from Cuero had made 16 appearances in the circle and 17 in the field for the Bearkats. Dunn batted .256 on the season, while pitching 41 innings.
